56. Like a Lamp

Bliss-emptiness

has the effulgence

of a lamp –

it releases

all contraction.

Commentary

A person never complains about life when they are in the pleasure palace of enjoyment. Who complains of tiredness when they are seated at the banquet table?

57. Be Released from It

Basking in the inner radiance

of bliss-emptiness,

let whatever arises

arise –

and be released from it.

Commentary

It is the bliss of the fire of emptiness that stabilizes the mind and burns away the attachments and sorrows of the world engraved in the heart. Whatever arises, painful or pleasurable, is burnt in the flames of bliss-emptiness.
